"I had been raised in The Church, and I'd heard all of the familiar Bible stories... Adam and Eve, Noah and the Ark, Jonah and the whale... I'd even heard of a guy named Jesus who was brutally executed, but then rose from the dead. I thought they were all interesting stories, but I had no idea what significance any of them had to my life.
"One night... after my wife and I had started raising our family... I prayed to God, saying: 'God, I know you're real... but I feel like there's something really important about you that no one's ever told me. So would YOU please tell me the truth about you?'
"One night... after my wife and I had started raising our family... I prayed to God, saying: 'God, I know you're real... but I feel like there's something really important about you that no one's ever told me. So would YOU please tell me the truth about you?'
"I didn't see any flashes of light from heaven, and I didn't hear an audible voice... but I did feel strongly encouraged to go get a Bible and start reading it. That's what I did... the very next day. And as I read God's Word, His truth became clear to me. The reason Jesus died and rose again was because He loves me... more than anything. Jesus loves me so much He sacrificed His life to make me right with God. He accepted the guilt of my sins, and suffered the punishment I deserve. He did that so I could receive God's gift of eternal life."
After understanding that most important truth about God, Pastor George Schweitzer began feeling called into full time ministry as a local church pastor. He was certain God wanted him to share His message with others who also might have missed it.
He began attending the Lutheran Brethren Seminary in 2000 and graduated in 2003. He served CLBA congregations in Eau Claire, WI, Colfax, WI, and Rochester, MN before beginning ministry at Resurrection Church on October 1, 2017. Pastor George also serves proudly as Chaplain for the Buda Police Department. If you have questions about God, the Bible, or life... please contact Pastor George at pastorgeorge.office@gmail.com |
